Behind-The-Scenes with IT

IKONICS Imaging is more than just sandcarvers and photoresist film. We have an entire team dedicated to bringing you the best sandcarving products on the market. This month, take a look behind-the-scenes with Tom Hadrava, IT Manager for all IKONICS divisions including IKONICS Imaging. Tom is one of our newest employees and is key in helping to make IKONICS Imaging the world leader in sandcarving solutions by keeping all our IT systems running in tip-top shape.

How long have you worked for IKONICS? I've been at IKONICS for 3 whole months now. It's been quite the learning experience so far!

What is your job at IKONICS? I am the Information Technology (IT) Manager for all IKONICS divisions. I am responsible for the overall performance of the network that keeps IKONICS running. I cover everything from networking/phones to servers to software and everything in between.

What did you do before working at IKONICS? Before working at IKONICS, I was an IT Manager for St. Louis County as the dedicated manager for IT customer service and support. I oversaw the IT Service Desk, IT Operators, and IT Support Engineers. My team was responsible for end point management, support, and maintenance.

What are your hobbies outside of work? I’m a big time tech junkie. With the little free time that I do have (our son keeps us quite busy!) I try to get video game time in whenever I can. I also enjoy anything outdoors like hiking, biking, snowboarding, camping, kayaking, ATV-ing, fishing, sitting around a campfire, etc.

What was the best concert you ever attended? Chevelle at the Myth in St. Paul, MN. Chevelle is an indie rock band from Chicago.

If we went to happy hour, what would you order? Chicken wings and a Blue Moon. Orange optional.

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose? Teleportation. The ability to move instantaneously from one location to another would give me so much more time for video games.

And finally, the most dividing question here at IKONICS... Packers or Vikings? I previously worked in Superior, WI for almost 10 years and the Packer fans there scarred me for life. Go Vikings!
