Sandcarving has become a very effective method for etching and personalizing a wide variety of surfaces including: crystal, glass, marble, ceramic, wood, stainless steel, granite and many others. It is accomplished by using a sandblaster and a photoresist stencil, or film. After the photoresist film has been processed and adhered onto the surface to be etched, a stream of “sand” (actually aluminum oxide or silicon carbide) etches and removes the substrate within the “open” areas of the film. The rest of the film protects the surface from abrasion. Once the sandcarving has been completed, the film is removed, leaving a beautifully etched image on the surface. Achieve fine lines, sharp detail and a clean finish with sandcarving – discover how quick, clean and easy sandcarving can be!
