Behind-The-Scenes With Our Plant Engineer

IKONICS Imaging is more than just sandcarvers and photoresist film. We have an entire team dedicated to bringing you the best sandcarving products on the market. This month, take a look behind-the-scenes with Paul Mueller, Plant Engineer in our Operations Department, and his dog Nestlé, unofficial mascot of IKONICS.

Paul is just one of the many team members who help make IKONICS Imaging the world leader in sandcarving solutions. As Plant Engineer he has a wide variety of projects that he is continuously working on to ensure that operations at IKONICS run smoothly. We all love when Paul brings Nestlé in for a visit. Nestlé is full of energy and his wagging tail combined with his endless curiosity leave a smile wherever he goes. Keep reading to learn more about the Adventures of Paul and Nestlé.

How long have you worked for IKONICS? I have worked here for just over 5 years now.

What is your job at IKONICS? As Plant Engineer I support manufacturing and try to optimize our manufacturing process.

What did you do before working at IKONICS? I graduated college in the heart of the recession. Following college I worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a while before coming to IKONICS.

What project are you working on right now? I am just finishing up the fabrication of a new sheeting machine for our finishing department.

What are your hobbies outside of work? I try to spend most of my time outdoors with my dog Nestlé. We enjoy running, hiking, biking, and camping among other things.

What was your last vacation? It was more of a runcation. In February I ran 5 marathons in 5 days in 5 states. I started in Florida and ended in Texas.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? All of it! As I travel, I discover even more destinations that I want to visit. I could easily go and never come back.

And finally, the most dividing question here at IKONICS... Packers or Vikings? Vikings all the way!
