CSS Students Visit IKONICS

A group of Business and Marketing students from the College of St. Scholastica (CSS) visited IKONICS this week. Students learned firsthand about the different types of "Unique. Imaging. Solutions." that IKONICS offers throughout its four divisions:

The tour began with a brief tour of the building followed by an overview of the company from Michael Sullivan, Marketing Manager. IKONICS has served as an international leader in the development of imaging technologies for over 65 years. Sullivan explained how IKONICS proudly introduces products and process solutions for a diverse array of imaging markets.

Peter Norman, Director of Sales for the IKONICS Imaging division, continued the presentation by giving the students an in-depth look at his division. Norman discussed the benefits of sandcarving, different substrates you can sandcarve on, various techniques used in sandcarving, and the wide range of sandcarving markets that exist.

"We are always looking at ways to educate the community on our company and what we do. This was a great opportunity to showcase our imaging solutions to the next generation." - Peter Norman, Director of Sales

After the presentation, the students were given the opportunity for a hands-on demo. Using a state-of-the-art CrystalBlast Sandcarver, each student sandblasted the CSS logo on a glass, a unique keepsake to remember their tour of IKONICS.

When asked if he felt this was beneficial for the students, Professor Dave Anstett answered with a wink, "Any day out of the classroom is a good day!" We agree Professor, we agree.
