Meet Our New Digital Marketer

Meet Fawn Giese, our new Digital Marketing Coordinator and Web Administrator. Fawn started at IKONICS in 2018 as the Graphic Designer for all IKONICS divisions. She then moved into a role as the Creative Marketing and Design Coordinator before becoming our Digital Marketing Coordinator and Web Administrator at the beginning of 2020.

Fawn brings over 15 years of design experience into this new role and is looking forward to the challenge. "I'm excited for the opportunity to learn and expand on our digital marketing strategies for social media marketing, email marketing, website management and development, search engine optimization, online advertising, and so much more," stated Fawn. Keep scrolling to learn more about Fawn's background and interests.

How long have you worked for IKONICS? I started in May of 2018, so I've only been with IKONICS for a little over a year and a half.

What is your job at IKONICS? I am currently in the process of transitioning from my position as the Creative Marketing and Design Coordinator into my new role as the Digital Marketing Coordinator and Web Administrator. In this new role I will oversee the management of our seven corporate websites, as well as create and coordinate all content for our blogs, social media accounts, and emails for all divisions at IKONICS. In addition I will also be responsible for online advertising campaigns and analyzing analytics across all digital platforms.

What did you do before working at IKONICS? Before working at IKONICS I had a variety of jobs in the print industry. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a degree in Communication in the Arts, I worked in the magazine and newspaper industry as a Layout Editor, then moved into the flexographic print world as a Prepress Artist/Manager. After that I worked as a Website Designer and Art Director. Working in a variety of industries has given me a diverse background that has been a great benefit to my job here at IKONICS.

What was the best concert you ever attended? By far the best concert I've ever been to was Garth Brooks' comeback tour at the Allstate Arena in Chicago in 2014. It was his first night back on tour after he semi-retired in 2001. It was the most electrifying room I've ever been in. The whole arena felt like it was vibrating.

If we went to happy hour, what would you order? In the summer, a sour. In the winter, an IPA. And nachos. Always nachos. Any kind of nachos. I love nachos.

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose? Time travel. To the past, to the future, to other dimensions. There is so much about the past and future that we will NEVER know. We know so much, yet so little. It's so frustrating!

Pretend you’re our CEO. What three concerns about the company's future keep you up at night? My three main concerns would be how to stay relevant in industries that are replaceable or going digital, how to focus our efforts to maximize our potential rather than spread ourselves thin, and how to improve the employee experience to create an enjoyable workplace environment for all departments.

What was your last vacation? Our last vacation was a foodie trip to Spain (pictured), which included cooking classes in Barcelona, a farm-to-table dinner outside of Astorga to find out what prime rib aged for 180 days tastes like, and ham school in Alajar (among other adventures).

And finally, the most dividing question here at IKONICS... Packers or Vikings? GO PACK GO!!!! Green and gold all the way baby.
