How To Apply Blazer Orange Laserable Film To Glass

Follow these tips to achieve a professional-quality etched glass or crystal with the Blazer Orange film.

1. Clean Your Glass

Before applying the Blazer Orange film, it's crucial to ensure your glass is clean. Use a glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth to thoroughly clean the surface. Make sure the glass is dry and free from any dust, fingerprints, or residues. A clean surface will help the film adhere better and provide a clearer, more precise etching.

2. Remove Slip Sheet (For Blazer Orange XL)

If you're using Blazer Orange XL, you'll need to remove the slip sheet. This is the side where your fingernail can dig in. The other side is the carrier sheet, which will be removed later. To remove the slip sheet, use a piece of tape to lift it off the film. This step is essential to ensure the film adheres properly to the glass.

3. Apply with a Squeegee

Once the slip sheet is removed, you're ready to apply the film to the glass. Use a squeegee to press the film onto the glass, ensuring a firm and even seal. The film will darken as it seals to the glass, making it easy to see where it's adhered correctly. Any areas that haven't sealed properly will appear lighter. Continue pressing until the entire film is evenly adhered.

4. Four Finger Flick Method to Remove Carrier Sheet

After the film is applied and sealed, it's time to remove the carrier sheet. The four-finger flick method works well for this. Use all four fingers to flick up the edge of the carrier sheet, then peel it off. If this method doesn't work for you, or if you don't have long fingernails, you can also use a piece of tape on the corner to help lift the carrier sheet.

5. Apply to Compound Curves

Applying Blazer Orange to a compound curve surface can be tricky. For these surfaces, we recommend removing both the carrier sheet and the slip sheet before applying the film. Stretch the film over the glass like a bed sheet, smoothing out any bubbles and ensuring a tight, even stretch. This method works best for glass that curves in multiple directions, allowing the film to conform smoothly to the surface.

By following these five tips, you can ensure a smooth and precise application of Blazer Orange film to your glass projects. Whether you're creating high-end corporate gifts, promotional products, or custom giftware, these techniques will help you achieve professional results.
