Why Choose Laser THICK Film for Engraving?
Laser THICK was engineered with one goal in mind: to outperform. Here’s what makes this stencil film stand out:
- Thicker mask for deeper etching
- Stronger adhesive for rough and uneven surfaces
- Quick laser burn with clean edges
- No PVC – clean-burning and safe for CO₂ lasers
- Smooth conformity to curves and textured substrates
- Easy color-fill post-sandcarve
- Simple cleanup – no soaking required
From detailed granite to rugged bricks, Laser THICK gives your designs the hold and depth they need—without peeling or wrinkling mid-project.
When To Use Laser THICK Film
Laser THICK was designed with versatility in mind, making it an essential tool for any laser engraving or sandcarving shop that works across a wide variety of materials. Whether you're tackling textured surfaces, curved shapes, or high-detail personalization projects, Laser THICK delivers professional results with minimal effort.
Engraved Bricks
Bricks are notoriously difficult to mask due to their rough, porous nature. Laser THICK’s enhanced adhesive and thick composition make it ideal for this type of material. It conforms to uneven textures and holds strong during sandblasting, allowing you to carve deeper without the mask shifting or peeling—perfect for personalized bricks.
Engraved Powder-Coated Tumblers
Powder-coated tumblers can be tough because of the texture and curved surface—but not for Laser THICK. The upgraded tack ensures a firm hold on tumblers and drinkware, even through the blasting process. After sandcarving, the stencil removes cleanly and leaves sharp edges, making it easy to color-fill or run through the blaster for a matte finish.
Engraved Granite & Memorial Stones
Granite and memorial stones require durability, precision, and depth—three things Laser THICK delivers with confidence. Its thick construction stands up to high-pressure sandblasting without lifting or tearing, even during deep carving. The result? Clean lines, smooth finishes, and crisp detail on one of the most demanding substrates in the industry. Perfect for monuments, plaques, or personalized headstones that need to stand the test of time.
Engraved Glass Awards & Drinkware
Although you can use any of our three laser mask films on glass awards, drinkware, and custom gifts, Laser THICK allows for precise laser imaging followed by a deep, clean sandcarve. The film adheres securely to smooth surfaces without wrinkling or lifting, helping you achieve crisp, high-resolution detail and a flawless etched finish that sparkles with dimension.
Frequently Asked Questions About Laser THICK Film
How is Laser THICK different from LaserTape or Blazer Orange?
While LaserTape is known for quick burns and Blazer Orange for high-resolution detail and repositionability, Laser THICK is built for depth and strength. It holds better to tricky substrates and allows for deeper blasting without sacrificing quality. LaserTape and Blazer Orange are both a thickness of 4mil, while Laser THICK is 6mil thick. LaserTape needs to be soaked off, while Laser THICK can be peeled off without soaking.
What types of lasers can I use with Laser THICK?
Laser THICK is optimized for CO₂ lasers with 40 watts or more. It may also be used with diode, fiber, or UV lasers, but testing is recommended to ensure compatibility.
Can I use Laser THICK for color-filling?
Absolutely. Laser THICK is perfect for designs that need to be color-filled after sandblasting. The thick stencil edge helps contain pigments and enhances your final presentation.
Does it leave residue?
No. Like all our laser films, Laser THICK offers clean removal with no sticky mess, even after high-pressure blasting.
Do I need to soak the mask to remove it?
No soaking needed—just peel it away after blasting.
What’s the best way to use it?
Apply the film to your substrate, engrave your design using a compatible laser system, then sandcarve to your desired depth. Finish with a color-fill if desired, then peel off the mask. That’s it.
