IKONICS, Trotec & JDS Donate To 23rd Veteran

IKONICS Imaging, along with Trotec Laser and JDS Industries, hosted a hands-on training seminar in July. Held in in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the workshop drew 60 attendees from 39 different companies. This two-day technical workshop gave attendees the chance to learn about three revenue-generating imaging technologies – lasers, sandblasting and sublimation – and how to integrate them into their business.

This multi-dimensional seminar is held three times a year throughout the United States. The registration fee includes two days of classes, hands-on training, lunch both days, and a networking dinner. A portion of the proceeds from each seminar are donated to a local charity.

23rd Veteran - Changing Lives for Veterans

Proceeds from our July seminar in Minneapolis were donated to 23rd Veteran, a non-profit organization headquartered in Minnesota that aims to provide happier, healthier lives for veterans living with trauma. 23rd Veteran is a groundbreaking program working to help veterans adjust back to the civilian world. They use brain science, evolutional theory, positive trigger re-association, and positive psychology to assist veterans leaving the military and those who never properly transitioned. They also provide training to businesses and communities who want to create a more positive environment for returning veterans.

Peter Norman, Director of Sales for IKONICS Imaging, and Mikaela Hernesman, Event Coordinator for IKONICS Imaging, presented the donation check to the 23rd Veteran team September 23, 2019. "We are honored to have worked with 23rd Veteran in the past to create sandcarved pieces for their silent auction. When deciding which Minnesota-based organization to donate to for our Minneapolis seminar, 23rd Veteran immediately came to mind," stated Norman.

Recap of Sub, Sand, Laser Seminar in Minneapolis

The two-day seminar began with detailed presentations on the basics and best practices of each technology, followed by hands-on training. The agenda then moved into advanced breakout sessions, demonstrations on how to integrate the technologies, and training on how to sell into various markets including awards, promotional products, and giftware, to name a few.

"There is nothing more important to us than helping our customers grow their business. It's a true partnership. So that is what this seminar is all about." - Kris Tennyson, Trotec Laser

Designed to provide attendees with an understanding of the uses and opportunities each technology offers, technical sessions covered sandcarving techniques (such as stage carving, frosting and compound curves), how to choose the right laser processing method for your application, and how to optimize sublimation results.
